50% of each sale go to HERe NI, a community organisation and registered charity based in Belfast. HERe NI support lesbian and bisexual women and their families, aiming to improve the lives of L & B women across Northern Ireland.
‘Living but a Day’ is a touring collaborative project by visual artist Chloe Austin. This specific body of work was produced at PS2 Gallery, Belfast, where the public were invited to engage and re-speak archival material held by HERe NI and LGBTQIA+ NI Heritage Project. Taking a co-creation approach, these responses by the public were then transformed into new artwork by Austin.
Austin’s current practice examines formerly overlooked archival material between the North and South of Ireland and further into the depths of typographic history and print culture of the 90s and 00s. ‘Living but a Day’ (1.0) seeks a revival and a shared history with lived experience in the ‘Women's News Magazine’, established in Belfast in 1984 by the Women's News Collective.
