Archival Discomfort was a performance-lecture by Chloe Austin as part of my practice-based research project, Living but a Day. This lecture reflected on awkward archive visits, uncomfortable sensations and a broader exploration into the ‘queer archival turn’.

Borrowing various texts and theories, I traced my own affective, fleeting, textual, weird, generative, erotic, failing, and ephemeral relationship to the queer and feminist archives across the island of Ireland.

The performance-lecture was re-recorded as a video work that went on to be displayed at the LAB Gallery, Dublin as part of Encounters, and for the In The Press exhibition at Hypha Studios, London.
